一、基本情況
韓國(guó)的基礎(chǔ)教育包括小學(xué)6年，初中3年，高中3年共12年;高等教育專科2-3年;本科一般4年，醫(yī)科(含韓醫(yī)、牙醫(yī))6年;研究生教育分碩士和博士?jī)蓚(gè)階段：碩士一般為2年，博士一般為3年。韓國(guó)實(shí)行四級(jí)學(xué)位制：專門學(xué)士學(xué)位、學(xué)士學(xué)位、碩士學(xué)位、博士學(xué)位。
？飘厴I(yè)發(fā)畢業(yè)證書，同時(shí)授予專門學(xué)士學(xué)位;4年制本科畢業(yè)后發(fā)畢業(yè)證書，同時(shí)授予學(xué)士學(xué)位;醫(yī)科6年畢業(yè)后發(fā)畢業(yè)證書，也授予學(xué)士學(xué)位，但可以申請(qǐng)攻讀博士學(xué)位。
韓國(guó)實(shí)行專科教育的機(jī)構(gòu)稱“專門大學(xué)”;實(shí)行本科教育的機(jī)構(gòu)為“大學(xué)！(一般為綜合性大學(xué))或者“大學(xué)”;實(shí)行研究生教育的機(jī)構(gòu)為“大學(xué)院”，“大學(xué)院”多數(shù)設(shè)在大學(xué)校里，也有單獨(dú)設(shè)立的“大學(xué)院”。
韓國(guó)的高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)根據(jù)設(shè)立形式和經(jīng)費(fèi)來(lái)源渠道，分為國(guó)立、公立、私立三種，除個(gè)別公立學(xué)校可以由設(shè)立的地方政府自行批準(zhǔn)外，都必須經(jīng)教育科學(xué)技術(shù)部批準(zhǔn)，國(guó)家認(rèn)可的高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)都必須接受教育科學(xué)技術(shù)部的監(jiān)督和管理。
韓國(guó)高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)的授課語(yǔ)言通常使用韓語(yǔ)，也有少數(shù)課程的授課語(yǔ)言為英語(yǔ)。
2011年，韓國(guó)共有認(rèn)可的專科大學(xué)(韓語(yǔ)稱“專門大學(xué)”，英語(yǔ)名稱一般使用College)146所，提供本科和本科以上教育的四年制大學(xué)195所，單獨(dú)設(shè)立的只授予碩士、博士學(xué)位的大學(xué)院20所。
韓國(guó)的“學(xué)院”(韓語(yǔ)稱“學(xué)院”，英語(yǔ)名稱一般使用Institute 或College )主要是由社會(huì)力量創(chuàng)辦的非學(xué)歷教育機(jī)構(gòu)。
